Welcome to the City of Lakes or Lake City Udaipur, an Indian state of Rajasthan which is also known as ‘Venice of the East.  Because it is set, around so many of artificial lakes, like fateh Sagar lake & Pichola Lake Now, known as the lake, Swaroop lake, and lots more like this. Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh 2 in the year 1559.  It was also known as the historical capital of the kingdom of Mewar. Popular languages spoken include Hindi, English, and Rajasthani.  Udaipur is one of the best and popular Tourist places in India.

The most appealing time to visit Udaipur is in winters, from October to January. It is the most romantic place to visit in India. There are so many places, you can visit and make your vacation a memorable one experience:
Attractions & Places to Visit and Explore in Udaipur

Udaipur City Palace:

This  Palace built under the supervision of Maharana Udai Singh ||. Palace attracts a lot of tourists, because of its marvelous structure. The entire palace is made up of marbles. It looks so fascinating from inside and from the outside also. The City Palace Museum is also one of the best Udaipur Tourist attractions and one can see it from the beautiful rooms that are festooned with fine mirror work and the museum houses the exclusive paintings of the battle. The palace has numerous balconies, cupolas, and towers that overlook Pichola Lake. The structure is just as beautiful inside as it is spectacular from the outside. Each palace is designed in a unique way, and decorations like mirrored tiles, paintings, glass work and ornamental tiles bring to life the opulence of the era.

Badi Mahal:

is a unique part of the City Palace of Udaipur and is also known as Garden Palace. The palace is located in centralized position with an exotic garden. The hall of the palace is decorated with exclusive paintings from 18th and 19th century. It has luxurious rooms, painted mirrors, ornate ceilings, attractive carvings on the walls and beautiful portraits.

Lake Palace:

This palace is built on an island on the lake Pichola & now it is a five-star hotel. It is the most romantic hotel in the world. It was built in 1746 as the pleasure palace of Maharana Jagat Singh II. This palace becomes more famous after featuring in different TV shows and movies. Also, People plan their wedding, as this Palace is best for any destination wedding. It has 83 rooms.

Lake Pichola:

It is 4 km manmade lake which is famous for its boat ride which starts from Rameshwar Ghat in the City Palace. This lake is very popular and sums to the religions of Udaipur. There are four islands on the lake:

Jag Niwas, where the Lake Palace is built.
Jag Mandir, with the palace of the same name.
Mohan Mandir, from where the king would watch the annual Gangaur festival celebration.
Arsi Vilas, the small island which was an ammunition depot, but also a small palace.

As we know Udaipur is a City Of Lakes, so there are so many lakes which anyone can cherish like faith Sagar lake, dhebar lake, dudh talai lake etc.
Saheliyon ki Badi

It is one of the most visited places by tourists in Udaipur. Saheliyon ki Badi means “The Garden of the Maidens” or gardens for women. In this garden, there are several attractions built like fountains, lotus pool, marble elephant and a museum also. It is one of those places where maids or women’s make merry, dance, sing and do some recreational activities. There are well-maintained fountains, large elephant’s sculptures made of marble and beautiful lotus pool in the garden.  It is one of the wonderful place that is a must-visit in Udaipur.

Ek Lingji Temple

This temple is one of the most famous temples of Rajasthan which is located at a distance of 22 km from Udaipur. The temple is built in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. There is the idol of Eklingji (Lord Shiva) in the temple which is made out of black marble and is of the height of around 50 feet. The Shivlinga (The phallic form of Lord Shiva) is garlanded by a silver snake and is also the major attraction for devotees.

Udaipur is full of surprises, so do not consider this list the gist of the city. There are lots more left that we will discuss in our next part till you can discover on your own in this gorgeous city BUT for that, you have to visit these places first.
