Manali is a place situated in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 6,726 ft. in the Beas River Valley. It is one of the popular destinations in India. People mostly visit there in summers because the weather is cool in summers. There is so much to explore in this beautiful place like temples, parks, valleys. Most of the couples like to go there for honeymoon. There are so many breathtaking views. Below are some of the main spots that can be visited in Manali.
Hidamba Devi Temple
This temple is surrounded by Cedar forest which makes this temple more beautiful. It is an ancient cave temple which is dedicated to Hidimbi Devi. She was the wife of Bhima who was one of the five Pandavas. This temple is also known as Dhungiri temple and considered as the most prominent temple in this region.
Solang valley is a very fascinating place in Manali. One can enjoy Parachuting, Zorbing, Paragliding and horse riding. In winters Zorbing is replaced by Skiing. So, if a person loves adventure and sports then this is definitely a must visit spot.
Great Himalayan National Park
This is one of the India’s National parks. Great Himalayan National Park was established in 1984. It includes more than 375 fauna species. Any kind of hunting is strictly prohibited in this area. This park was added to the World Heritage Site(WHS) by UNESCO in June, 2014.
Pin Valley National Park
Pin Valley National Park is the only cold dessert National Park which is located in Himachal Pradesh. And it is because of its semi- frozen rivers and sub- zero temperature. Pin Valley National Park was established to preserve the unique flora and fauna species. Trekking can also be done at this point. The best time to visit this national park is August because this is the only time when the weather is warm enough.
This temple is dedicated to an Indian sage Manu. He is said to be the writer of Manusmriti and the creator of this world. This is the only temple of sage Manu. According to Hindu Mythology, the creator of human race sage Manu, meditated in Manali and the temple was built at the place where he used to meditate. Thus, for tourists this is a must visit temple.
Club House Manali
This place is 2 kms away from Manali. It has indoor gaming facilities. It includes games like, Carom, Karting, Table Tennis. Club House is managed by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation(HPTDC). And if you are an adventure freak then you can try river crossing which is done by rope way.
Hot Water Springs
Hot water springs like Nehru Kund, Beas Kund, Vashist and Kalath can also be explored.
Lord Ram Temple
This temple is located near Vashist Hot Water Spring. People worship Lord Ram here and bath in holy waters.
Mani karan Temple
79 kms away from Manali,there is a place known as Manikaran. It is a small town which attracts tourists who come to visit Manali. It is a pilgrimage center for Hindus as well as Sikhs. It is a land of many temples and a gurudwara.
